Poetry seemed appropriate for my mood. It's very mellow and collected. So I chose to present a narrative poem. It's not personal, it's not depressing. It could also probably fit in the uplifting section, but it's a narrative. I never use pronouns (he/she) in my writing, so they all fit into my life and my own categories. Once I did use those pronouns, and it didn't fit into my Specials Collection, I created my narrative section.
Well I think I've rambled enough. Here you go.
Finish Line
Running
The wind whipping his face,
keeping him focused
on his goal
There is one purpose to this
He pushes harder,
runs faster
His eyes lock on the target
It's still distant,
but getting clearer -
through his clouded vision
The wind stings,
brings tears to his eyes
The wind stings,
but keeps him focused
Legs burning,
arms pumping,
he pushes forward,
running faster still
The target becomes clear
A yellow band -
of freedom
of victory
If only he could reach it
Never slowing
Never retreating
Always pushing
Always reaching
Until, finally
the yellow tape is broken
and he emerges, at last,
a winner
Well there you go. Something a little different. Not quite like anything I've done before, but still decent. Right?
Comment thoughts. Also, ideas for next post. :)

Unfortunate
I feel as though I have a job to do that has not been done since November. But I am conflicted. I realize that my crowning of the Number One Fan Award is long overdue, but I don't seem to have anyone reading anything I write. At all! Not even my previous winner has been reading/commenting. It is very disappointing.
That is why I have chosen to award myself with this honor.
It's a bit unorthodox and extremely unfair, but I truly am the only one reading my own blog. It is expected, obviously, for me to do so but the fact remains. I have no more readers. At least not during 2012.
Love to all. Possibly posting again soon. Depends on comment activity.

Fashionista vs. Maxxinista vs. Regular Chica!
It seems I haven't posted in a while... I've been a bit busy and I've been unsure of what to discuss. I am in a very fashion driven mood, so let's roll with it.
Every month when I get a new Seventeen, it has quite a few ideas I would love to try. I just realized today that I have so many clothes I never wear. Having them in my closet (being as plain and boring as they are) is keeping me from getting new, more fashionista-esque clothing. I hope to change that soon :) However, even if I get rid of my old, boring clothes, there is still one large problem I must face. I have no monies :(
I could always take a few tips from miss NÃkolai Jaux and be a more thrifty shopper, try to find more deals.
But anywho, this post isn't just going to be me complaining about my lack of money; this post is about fashion!
I will be covering the top 10 trends in the fashion industry right now.
1. Neon: with spring creeping up, ever so slowly, a bright pop of color in your wardrobe lessens the winter blues.
2. Nautical: this look is deep (filled with many options and variations), so just dipping into it right now will be enough. Don't think "sailor" and take it too literally - wide leg jeans and some stripes (not over-the-top) will do.
3. Crochet: this fabric is mostly sweet and you can go a bit crazy in the girly department when using it...but I recommend throwing a wrench in the works - go edgy with crochet. A crocheted beanie or bracelet can do wonders in toughening up your look. Still, girly is always an option :P
4. Pleats: such a subtle detail...it can do so much. Pleats add fun to any outfit.
5. Sheer: this fabric/item seems a bit dangerous to me...done wrong it is disastrous, but done right it can be super cool. However, isn't that the case with all of fashion's most influential ideas? Just be careful with this one.
6. Floral: this has always been around and seems to disappear and reappear whenever we turn around. This time it has come back strong, plus very bold and daring. These aren't your grandma's plain petals...
7. Asymmetrical: this can apply to quite a variety of pieces. Asymmetrical skirts add whimsy and flare, plus they let you show off just enough of those legs that have been hiding all winter. Asymmetrical tops are more common, but can do essentially the same thing. This is one of my favorite styles :)
8. Edgy Boho: this one I haven't heard much about. Boho itself is a hard enough style to enter spontaneously...but boho with an edge could be less difficult to ease into.
9. Batik: I have not been previously exposed to it, at least not with this title. Simply put, it is bold prints and designs. Paired with #1 your style can pack a major punch. Good idea if you wanna smack someone in the face with your wardrobe!
10. Metallic: this fabric is no longer strictly reserved for parties and night life. Adding it to daily outfits adds a touch (big or small) of glam to anything and everything.
That's what's in store for March, so if you're a connoisseur of fashion, you better start picking up those items now!
Hopefully I'll be posting again soon :)
