"Unvoiced Desires"

Where I am weak, and
afraid, and
shy,
you are strong, and
brave, and
open.
You are everything that
I am not.
And somehow
when I'm with you...
I become those things too.
You complete me,
you have what I am
missing.
You make me the person
I've longed to be.
Craig Charles Gwin,
I love you
and I need you.

And I long for you to
hold me as you once did.

I long for you to need me
once more...

Well there you go. It's kind of old, but it's one of my favorites. I write a lot from personal experience and such so there isn't much that doesn't have personal pronouns...but there are a few of them. Since this one was on the short side, I'll post another one...probably a narrative one or one from my new collection. I'm trying something new - writing a series of narrative poems that tells a really big story..Kind of like a book, but very different. It's exciting and truly challenging :)

  1. Okay, so I totally commented on this a week ago. And yet... no comment. Darn you internet! Anyway, I believe the previous comment was somewhere along the lines of "You're an awesome poet," "I loved this," etc. Also, I love how you broke up the stanzas. That's always been my favorite kind of poetry. And poems as a book? LOVE IT!

  2. Haha no worries man. Why thank you very much :) It's actually a format that took quite a while to develop. Lots of trial and error, but totally worth it. I'm so excited about it!! It's the first real poetic challenge I've given myself...ever! Haha
