Now for the second poem. I'm sorry if these make you sad, but it wasn't my choice. That dang tiger picked this topic!
**
Disappearing Act
Here I am...
putting on a smile every day,
pretending seeing him doesn't break my heart,
being the supportive friend
...
when all I wanna do
is kick
and scream
and cry
and whine
until I get my way.
I just wanna run away
and hide from it all.
From all my mistakes.
From the fact that he's over me.
I just want it all to go away.
But here I am
putting on the same old smile;
pretending I'm okay,
putting on a show,
pretending I don't hate myself.

So there's that one.
I would like to mention...if it's not already known, that I do write from personal experience. (I realize I might have said that in another post, but I'm too lazy to actually check.)
Not sure what to do next post. Possibly AVPS...
So another great poem, sad, yeah, but you've had to go through some tough stuff, I know. Once again, I love the style of this. One critique... I personally, am not a big fan of using periods in poetry. Other punctuation is fine, but for some reason I've never liked periods. Maybe I'm just weird. If you like using them, then whatever. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Also YES to AVPS! AVPS is where it's at!
ReplyDeleteI don't always use periods...I just think that sometimes it drives the point home. Like when you see a period you know that's the end of it. It's not like "oh that's cool but there could maybe be more to it..." With a period it's just done. That's the end of it. And sometimes you need that, you know? Hence my varying use of periods. I'll get right on that The Cooler Jacobs...haha :)
ReplyDelete**to clear any confusion**
ReplyDeleteI'll get right on that was referring to the comment about posting on AVPS next. <3 y'all!
